"The abundantly blooming P. laurocerasus shrubs (April– May) provide pollinating insects with nectar and pollen reward for 3–4 weeks. Their flowers were mainly visited by Apis mellifera, which collected nectar throughout the day, with maximum activity at noon." [2]

"In Central Europe, the cherry laurel has been cultivated since the fifteenth century. In Germany, it was introduced for cultivation in 1663." [2]
