Information Literacy Learning Outcome: Locate

Locate

Locating a resource is achieved when one item is isolated and its access point is identified.

Classroom Application

Activities & Exercises

  • Student is prompted to share the permanent online hyperlink or call number of an article, book, or other resource
  • Title of resource is given and student is asked to report on the permanent hyperlink or call number
  • Ask student for an accurate citation in APA of an online peer reviewed journal. A correct citation will include the DOI or URL which is also the location
  • Encourage the student to ask ChatGPT for a bibliography on a specific class topic and then report on the existence of each resource in the list
  • Provide a bibliography and ask the student to provide permanent hyperlinks or call numbers for some or all of the items in the list
