The National Novel Writing Month challenge is to reach 50,000 words in one month by the end of November. That's it! There's no other goals or rules, but if you'd like to have more structure, you can break up the 50,000 words exactly evenly per day and do 1,667 words per day which makes the task a lot easier to tackle for some. This calendar shows you what your total should be each day if you write 1,667 words every day of November!
To get to know your character really well, filling out character sheets can be a great start to answering key questions about a character's motivation and what they would do in important situations. Character sheets are also a good place to keep information about a character's appearance and background so you don't contradict details you've already decided. We've included character sheets here, but you can find character sheets elsewhere on the internet as well.
