What is NaNoWriMo?

National Novel Writing Month, November or NaNoWriMo is a challenge where people from all backgrounds try to write 50,000 words in a month.

Oh no - I have to write a whole novel?? How do I even begin?!

The best way to handle an intimidating task is to break it into small pieces. If you write every day of the month during NaNoWriMo, you must finish 1667 words a day to reach the goal of 50,000 words in the month. Log into the website to keep track of your word count, make friends, post questions on their forums, and blast through writers block.

Alternatively, you can use this month to focus on shorter goals, revision of a past project, or projects that are not novels.
