About the Speaker

Joel S. Migdal was formally associate profefssor of Government at Harvard University and is currently a professor of International Studies at the University of Washington.

Migdal founded the University of Washington's International studies program. In addition, he has received many awards including the Distinguished Teaching Award in 1993 and the Washington State Governor's Writers Award in 1994.
