Sometimes you want to send students or instructors to a database's home page so they can do their own searches and you don't have a particular article or page in mind to send. These links are shortened and don't have the proxy prefix, but will still get anyone on or off campus to the destination listed. They are designed to work even if the database eventually changes their home URL link as this is our shortcut link that will reroute visitors to the resource as long as we keep them correct and up to date on our end! They are safe to have instructors use in PDFs of their syllabi or in static websites that don't change for a long time unlike the browser bar URL.
