                               written and performed by Shoreline Community College students

Production in June 2021

What is the Origins Project

The Origins Project was inspired by the book Papers: Stories by Undocumented Youth, a collection of true stories from immigrant youths aged 10-32 about their experiences coming to America and living in America. The Origins Project will be a collection of true stories about the immigrant experience in the form monologues, scenes, skits, interviews, short-stories, and/or interviews about the immigrant experience. The content will be created and performed by Shoreline Community College students.

This project will live-streamed on YouTube through the Ray Howard Library's YouTube channel. Planning will begin during winter quarter 2021. Production is set for spring quarter, June 2021. 

WANTED! Student Writers & Performers

We are looking for true stories of the immigration experience that can be expressed in the form of scenes, skits, monologues, poems, short-stories, or interviews. And we need writers and performers to bring those stories to the screen!

There will be an informational meeting via Zoom February 16, 2021; 12:30-1:30pm. This meeting will discuss in more detail the content and performances, and how much work will be involved for the project. All Shoreline CC students are welcome. (
