Machinst Math: About

Math for machinists involves math operations of whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages that apply directly to machining and manufacturing. Precision measurements are important as are angles, area volume and mechanical calculations.

The tabs above lead to videos for the Math in the CNC Manufacturing Program's first quarter class, MFGT 105.

Welcome to my libguide! I am an adjunct faculty member and have been teaching at Shoreline since 2007. I have an M Ed. in TESOL from Seattle University and a BS in Forestry (Outdoor Recreation Planning) from UW.

A former Peace Corps Volunteer in Upper Volta (now Burkina Faso), I've spent fifteen years abroad living and working in Japan, Burkina Faso, The Gambia, and several other African countries. Along the way I've learned and forgotten several languages Fulfuldé, Ollof, Mandinka, and Kiswahili, but I still speak English, French, and Moré fairly well.

I love teaching, ESL, the practical math in the manufacturing program and 3D printing. My interests include bicycling, hiking, volleyball, chess, and photography (especially flowers).
