Information Literacy Instruction and Collaborative Learning Classroom (4214) Guidelines
Librarians in the Ray W. Howard Library are available to provide instructional faculty and their students with information literacy instruction and help with designing research-based assignments. Even if instructors plan to provide their own instruction regarding library services for their students, we are happy to collaborate and assist.
A. Instructors should schedule instruction at least one week in advance. Librarians, may, at their discretion, make exceptions in special circumstances.
B. Instructors can help librarians by giving them a copy of the assignments and/or a course syllabus at the time of scheduling.
C. Instructors will attend all instruction sessions.
D. Schedule instruction by emailing the Information Literacy Librarian, TaChalla Ferris (firstname.lastname@example.org). We have limited staffing, so have several time choices.
A. Library instruction and eLearning instruction have priority for use of 4214.
B. 4214 is available for instruction without librarians or eLearning staff with no more than three days advance booking, when it is not being used for library instruction or eLearning instruction. Instructors can also book the room first thing in the morning of the day on which they want to use the classroom.
C. 4214 is available for other college-related workshops with no more than three days advance booking, when it is not being used for library instruction or eLearning instruction. During the break between quarters, it can be booked at any time by calling the Circulation Desk, (206) 546-4556.
