FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions for Students

While the Ray Howard Library building is closed to protect students and library employees, library staff are available to students and staff through AskWA 24/7 chat reference, email, and Zoom . Librarians are available to teach workshops in courses through Canvas modules and zoom instruction. See Library Remote Resources and Services for more information.

Ray Howard Librarians are available to assist you through AskWA from 12 PM - 6 PM Monday- Friday.
Librarians from other libraries in our cooperative are available to help you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Other Ray Howard Library staff work during regular business hours but may not be immediately available due to remote operations. 

The college only issuing ID cards to students in the Nursing program this quarter.
If your instructor has told you that you need an ID and badge for clinicals, fill out the form here.

If a laptop is available, you will also need to schedule a pickup time before coming to campus.

All books, CDs and DVDs checked out last quarter are now due regardless of your enrollment status.

If you are no longer enrolled at the college and you have a laptop, it is, or was due at the end of your last quarter. If you are currently enrolled your laptop is due at the end of this quarter but may be renewed if you are enrolled for next quarter. Please contact us at circulation@shoreline.edu with questions or to request renewals.

Fines accrued during this time will be reviewed and adjusted upon reopening.
No overdues will block you from registering for next quarter.

Please use the form here. to schedule an appointment to drop off equipment or library materials, or request a renewal for laptops or equipment.
To renew books, CDs or DVDs sign into your library OneSearch account and go to "My Loans."

We are not checking out textbooks this quarter, but you can email circulation@shoreline.edu to request scans of chapters.

We are not yet able to fill requests for books, but we are still filling requests for articles.
Requests may take longer to fill due to widespread shutdowns and moves to remote operations.
