DESCRIPTION

Contemplative pedagogy is an approach to education that “shifts the focus of teaching and learning to incorporate ‘first person’ approaches which connect students to their lived, embodied experience of their own learning.” (Contemplative Pedagogy Network).  Dr. Harvey has studied and used in her chasses this powerful tool for learning for many years.  Recently, she lectured and led workshops on the subject at Thammasat University in Thailand. She will discuss the meaning and application of Contemplative Learning, and how it can benefit students at Shoreline.
